Michal, Advisor of the Board, Proxy Strategic Accounts – AXA Assistance Poland
How did you join AXA Assistance?
I joined AXA Assistance in 1994, at the creation of the office in Poland. Assistance business was very familiar to me thanks to my previous three-year position in a Polish brokerage company, working along with AXA Assistance. I have always been impressed by the team spirit and professionalism of AXA Assistance. I have still this feeling after all these years…
Describe your path.
I graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Warsaw. Thanks to AXA Assistance, I joined the “Ecole nationale d'assurances” and obtained a diploma in insurance.
My beginnings at AXA Assistance were simple but my career went fast. I started as an assistance coordinator in the international assistance team. After only three years, I became Director of Assistance Operations! I was happy to be given the chance to implement and develop new assistance products in the Polish market in cooperation with the key insurance market players. Searching for new ideas and innovation, I had the opportunity to travel around Europe, visiting several AXA Assistance offices. This gave me a very precious opportunity to get knowledge of the Group business and meet great people. The second important step in my AXA assistance career occurred in 1998, when I was promoted to the position of Sales Director of AXA Assistance Poland. Today, since two years now, I am Advisor of the Board, handling the accounts of our seven biggest clients.
What are your main tasks?
My mission is to develop the business and the profitability with the key clients. My point is to be open to new sales opportunities and to make deals on a win-win basis. The most motivating moment for me, it’s the final negotiation meeting, when we close the deal. Satisfaction on my client’s face makes me believe that I’ve succeeded to answer his expectations.
I do really love my job. But my family is at the forefront of my mind. Weekends and holidays belong to my wife and son, whatever we do together – sailing on the lakes in the North of Poland or listening to music at home.![]()
